Stress Task

For this task we answered four questions anonymously
- What stresses you out?
- What negative thought have I had today?
- What scares you?
- How do you destress?

These were then displayed in around the studio so we could see everyone's answers.

What I liked about seeing everyones responses was that it reassured me that I am not alone though this process, many other people feel like they're not good enough or that they're not producing enough work not just me. I know that I can go to people who I know who are also doing graphics, or even my flat mates that are also at LCA studying different courses and know they will  be in a similar situation to me and no matter what I say, even if I think it's stupid. They will have probably felt the same at some point in their lives if not pretty recently.
After seeing everyones we wrote down out three favourites answers for each question therefore had a list of 12 statement then from this we created a Haiku. You can see mine in my notebook pages below.
"Do I do enough work?
Worrying about tomorrows deadline
Call mum for reassurance"

Everyone then displayed their Haiku on the wall and so many different poems were created which shows that just with a bit of team work you can create something you never thought you would be able to.

From this we thought about how we could get this advice out there and treasure other people that they're not alone and other people have worries and are stressed about things too. In my group we came up with several ideas which were:
- Instead of billboards/ every poster that you see being an advertisement, replacing these with a positive message such as 'Everything is going to be okay". This would address everyone that walks past and reads it and can relate to any kind off stress or worries.
- Creating a phone app that sends you a reassuring message or quote that you must read before you look at anything else on your phone in a  morning.
- Putting a huge sheet of paper out in a public place with pens so that people can write on it with a title of "what is troubling you?" / "what are you stressed about?". Sometimes just writing things down or saying them out loud you begin to feel better, the more responses you get the more effective this is because people who are stressed can see what other people are stressed about and potentially see that someone is worrying about the same thing. It could also make you reflect on your problems as people may have more troubling things to worry about.
