OUGD602 Evaluation
I have really enjoyed PPP this year and despite not perusing graphic design as a career I think it has given me the perfect opportunity to round off my 3 years as one. Doing the personal branding gave me time to reflect on my time at uni and everything I have learnt on my journey here. The branding I have produced is really representative of myself and my creativity as well as my love for the colour pink.
Last summer I did a placement at a branding agency and I think that is what made me truly realise I didn’t want to go into graphic design, compared to the voluntary work I had done in primary schools it was nowhere near as enjoyable.
Initially I felt a bit silly wanting to change from graphic design to primary teaching but I am really happy with all the support and encouragement I have received this year from all staff. I am glad that my PPP blog has given me a platform to talk about my experience apply for a PGCE. I went through a long research, application and interview process before being offered a place on a SCITT course and it is nice to look back at this on my blog as well as show people what I have been doing.

6B2, 6C2 - website development
previous design had lots of images per project, a bit too much. All projects and their descriptions were on one page.
lots of images and very little room to breath
now my home page consists of 3 images per project that are all clickable and take you to the specific project page explaining the brief more in depth
6C2 - paper stock, printing
As I am trying to be more conscious about recycling and reducing waste in my personal life I have chosen to use a recycled paper stock for my cv, it adds a dark undertone to the print but also a nice texture. I have also used recycled card for the business cards which has a nice fleck of different colours throughout but they aren't too noticeable.
6C2 - Design Strategy File
I wanted something simple that would link well to my self branding. I think it looks consistent and professional
6C2 - manifesto

designing my manifesto to match my self branding. I want to create a consistent design strategy file
6B2 - Evaluation of voluntary work
Over the limited time I have been at Dalton School I have learnt many valuable skills and things about myself. I now know that I can adapt myself well and think on my feet when I need to, it also helped me improve my leadership skills, communication skills and ability to help as well as discipline young children. Over my time there I have found it remarkable how much development the children made in their reading and writing skills and I was grateful for the opportunity to support the activities which engaged the children and enabled them to achieve while still having fun. Being able to see the children develop was hugely rewarding and I look forward to actively contributing to this further during my teaching career. From my work experience it is clear to me that teaching is the career path I want to go down and doing a PGCE seems the best way for me to achieve this. I am now even more excited to start my teacher training in September.
